Existing Sprinkler System Reevaluation
Fire sprinkler systems are designed for building conditions at the time the sprinkler system was originally installed. Any changes — to the building or how it's used — should prompt analysis to confirm the sprinkler system remains adequate. Even if the building and its use remain the same, any changes in the water supply requires system reevaluation.
A full reevaluation should be performed if any of the following
changes occur:
■ Change or addition of backflow prevention valve
■ Change of building occupancy or use
■ Change of wall locations, partitions, or additions
■ Reduction in public water supplies
